The medals “For the Nature Conservation of Russia” was awarded on April 15 in the building of the Leningrad Region Government. Among the recipients was the expert, former head of the environmental department of nuclear town Sosnovy Bor and three members of the public charitable environmental organization “Green World”, which according to the Russian Ministry of Justice” serves as “foreign agent”.
At the same time Oleg Bodrov (NFFA 2010), director of “Green World” has to pay a penalty of 300.000 rubels ( app. 4.000 Euro) for not registering as “foreign agent”. Oleg: “If I am an agent, then I am an agent for nature!”
In the awards ceremony was attended by Nikolai Kuzmin – a member of the Environmental Committee of the State Duma of Russia, Mikhail Vivsyany – Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Committee on ecology of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad region and Yevgeny Usov – the press secretary of Greenpeace Russia.
